Most fun of all was - of course - transferring the images to fabric. People sent them to me in different ways: I was emailed files, downloaded others from the net and was sent originals or more usually copies by snail mail. And there were also the ones where I could say, "Oh yes, I've got that too, I'll just scan my copy".
I scanned them all, took them up or down to the right size, added in the background and then drew on the pentagons/hexagons so that I would know where to cut the fabric back to for my seams. The last step - and the one I always almost forgot - was to mirror image the picture so that it gets printed reversed. I then printed each image onto the phototransfer paper and ironed it onto my waiting piece of fabric.
